What's Holding Back The Item Upgrading Industry?

Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The best way to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This lets you enhance your gear without having to depend on costly trades or drops. This article will teach you how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades to equipment provide an increase in the item's stats. This bonus is based on the upgrade component's level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons stronger. They can be obtained by the destruction of enemies, finding them in item spheres or purchasing them from karma sellers. You can also salvage them from equipment that has the components or by using salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.

Upgrade components are primarily used to improve an item however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to boost the value of an upgradeable item, or they can be used to boost the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be forged to offer additional benefits. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the chances of upgrading its target while a boost upgrade increases the defense or attack capabilities of the weapon.

By selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In  item upgrader , an item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has its own experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item gains when upgraded using that component. Organic components, like, have a higher multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is therefore recommended to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next rank of the weapon or gear, and then move to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the multiplier of experience, each item also has an maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of items that are upgradeable is determined by their upgradeable rank and the kind of upgrade they can receive. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon with tier 10. The most popular weapon upgrade is a gun with tier 6 and a armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a set of items which all have the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at least once. The upgrade increases the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. When you first upgrade the set piece or weapon is that it will be given a +1 increase to its primary stat. Following upgrades, the primary stats are increased even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats increases randomly.

Upgrades can also boost the damage base of a weapon. This may be important for certain builds. However, weapons are not upgraded to have a greater defense base than their base. It is possible to increase value of specific sets and unique items by upgrading them, but they might not always be better than a Runeword with a high level.

If an item you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled only once, and then its guarantee will reset to 0. The same power dies are used to roll an item as it would be to increase its level. However, the new item has different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power dice of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector and are available for purchase with Gold. The NPC will also provide an additional reward for every tier that is completed of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the first item.

Rerolling

A player is able to reroll any item acquired in the game if they have enough tokens to be able to do so. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with the same level in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small amount of in-game currency. However, they are not refundable. The new item will have the same bonuses as the original, but the statistics will also be different.

In addition to rerolling items players can also alter the identity of any equipment by engaging with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identity from an armored weapon to a weapon, or vice versa, while retaining its base stats and required attributes. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.

Players can also increase the level of their item on any equipped device by obtaining upgrade items and conversing with the upgrader NPC of the item. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, the item type and the number of crests. Each step will add 5% more damage to weapons.

The upgrade of an item can boost its power however it can also decrease its quality. It is therefore important to keep both in check. Certain items might not be worth upgrading however, others will need to be upgraded in order to maximize their potential. For instance an individual player may wish to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to discover what it could become.

The primary reason people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they're trying to acquire a certain character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods don't always want to cooperate. The only alternative is to invest money or grind extensively. This is why rerolling is a popular option in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

When upgrading an item you can choose to upgrade the weapon or armor. However, this feature is absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe it was intended to to increase the value of rare items, but since the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded one level up and you'll typically replace the item before it becomes old enough. It's also not worth it to  upgrade item s that have gem sockets since the value of the gem will outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.

If you click the upgrade button on an item, you'll see a small window with the upgrade template for the item and the crest and Valorstone costs to boost the level of the item. The cost will differ between weapons and armor as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats to be added to an upgraded item, as well as its current base ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. Additionally the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl decrease percentage. For example an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.

The item will receive upgrades to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damages and block, parry, and dodge rating, in addition to the base ilvl. These increases are also based off the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template you can determine the amount of damage or defense the item will suffer after it is leveled up. This is displayed below the cost and the upgrade percentages. In addition to practice equipment, all other weapons and armor gain these same stats when leveled up. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can command an incredibly higher price than an unupp'd version. The same is true for other armor pieces like circlets and Tiaras.
