The upgrade of your items is an essential part of equipping your character. Upgrades increase the base damage and the enchantments of items.

They also offer bonuses and improvements. They can be purchased by contacting the Blacksmith.

The upgrade button can be found on any item. Every recycled item adds one level to the gauge for upgrading.

Weapons

When the weapon is upgraded it gains a base damage bonus, as well as a scaling factor that influences other stats. The weapon may also gain a number of upgrade components, which provide additional features or effects, and some have unique cosmetic effects. When the weapon reaches its maximum upgrade, it can then be modified to give different effects and bonuses or to boost specific stats. These upgrades can be used simultaneously and the effects differ based on how rare the weapon is.

There are two Blacksmiths in the game who can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area as well as Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both upgrade materials differ: Smithing Stones to modify the type of damage that a weapon deals and Somber Smithing Stones to modify standard weapons.

The armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currencies. Most armor will upgrade to the next level after an upgrade. Most types of armor can be upgraded, but certain items (such as the armor used to start in Great Sky Island) cannot.

The majority of armor upgrades boost the item's strength or defense by just a little. However, some upgrade components can offer significant improvements in defense or strength, particularly when upgrading an epic item.

Certain upgrades offer specific abilities that can be activated when wearing armor. These abilities can be extremely beneficial in combat. For example they can boost the speed of attack or block. The potion also has a custom color code which the player can select via /give, and that affects area-of-effect clouds and arrows generated by the potions. In Bedrock Edition, the custom color code of the potion is also applied to the potions' particle effects.

The water bottle, mundane, thick and awkward potions now have a brand new texture for brewing. In the Creative Inventory, potion healing and potion weakness have been added. In addition, there are lingering potions which can be brewed with Dragon breath or splash potions. Also included is a thick potion which has the status effect Mining Fatigue. Trinket

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It can be a ring or necklace. Or even a small banner used to mark the yard of a boat. It can also refer to a gilded trinket on the mast of a vessel.

This enchanted Scepter's magic seems to influence the dungeon, increasing its likelihood of producing water and grass. This trinket at the moment, will cause X% of the regular floors to be filled with water or grass. It doesn't affect enchantments, glyphs, cursed armor or weapons, or items that are produced to solve the dangers in rooms.

You can also enhance your Trinkets by placing them in a Magical Catalyst at the Alchemy Station. This will cost you 6 energy and increase the power of the trinket by a small amount.
